Laura Paulini

Laura Paulini is a meticulous painter working with the attraction of opposites and noting the complexities of these relationships. Consisting of tiny dot placed on the canvas with the end of a chopstick, Paulini’s paintings, she writes, are “a continuation of my decade-long exploration of the tension between movement and stillness, growth and decay, harmony and chaos.”
Paulini’s works have been exhibited at Eleanor Harwood Gallery, Headlands Center for the Arts, Kala Art Institue and Cerrito Contemporary.
In 2005, Paulini was the recipient of the Jay DeFeo Prize at Mills College, where she received her M.F.A.
