Jenny Roesel Ustick
Jenny Roesel Ustick is the Assistant Professor of Practice, Foundations Coordinator, and Sophomore Review Coordinator in the School of Art, College of DAAP, University of Cincinnati. Twelve years of teaching at the university level, specializing in Drawing, Life Drawing, and Foundations (2D, 3D, and 4D). Progressive leadership in Foundations beginning with an appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor of Foundations in 2008 at Grand Valley State University. Progressive leadership of public art projects in Cincinnati, Ohio partnered with ArtWorks Cincinnati, resulting in 8 large-scale murals completed with the assistance of local artists and apprentices.
Member of two collaborative artist groups making multi-media installations about nature, myth, and utopia, resulting in international film screenings and gallery exhibitions, museum exhibitions, and scholarly lectures. Solo studio research includes paintings, mixed media, sculpture, and installation, with a focus on drawing. Subject matter includes the figure in its presence and absence, clothing and fashion, and personal vs. public image and identity. Recent charcoal works on paper were shown in New York at the 2015 Governors Island Art Fair, and at ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
