JoAnn Edwards
JoAnn Edwards is the co-founder and Executive Director of the San Francisco Museum of Craft and Design. Edwards has stewarded the Museum’s vision, implementation and growth since its founding in downtown San Francisco in 2003. In 2013 the museum re-located to the Dogpatch.
Under Edwards’ leadership the museum has developed highly praised contemporary exhibitions and programs, including experiential MakeArt workshops launched in 2006 and a destination Museum Store.
Also in 2006, Edwards enabled the institution to join the Green Museums Accord sponsored by California Association of Museums to encourage sustainable practices for museums throughout the nation.
