Marianne Lettieri
Marianne Lettieri is a visual artist whose mixed media constructions investigate shifts in individual and cultural values associated with everyday objects and discarded materials. She is especially interested in the process by which relics of the past illuminate and inform contemporary social and political contexts. She presents commonplace artifacts in new configurations, reinforcing the interconnectedness of people and communities through time and the shared human desire to remember. After earning a BFA at University of Florida with majors in drawing and printmaking, Lettieri worked as a commercial artist and modern dancer, eventually relocating to Silicon Valley to pursue a career in marketing communications for the technology industry while continuing to develop her art skills. In 2013, Lettieri received an MFA in spatial arts at San Jose State University. She is currently an artist-in-residence at Cubberley Artist Studios Program in Palo Alto, California.
